That's Pleasant

Point Pleasant Beach, NJ that is.

Today was an interesting weather day. It was supposed to be sunny all day, but instead, it was cloudy with spots of sun until about mid-afternoon. I suppose the weather didn't make the beach outing so pleasant, but we stuck it out and laid out on the sand for a little while still.

All that laying around usually leads to hunger pains and the need to quench your building thirst. Well hey, that's perfect! Here we were at Martell's Tiki Bar.

To really enjoy this beachfront bar / restaurant, you should pay the $10 cover charge. This gives you access to the beach and the bar on the beach. (Point Pleasant Beach has an $8 entrance fee anyway.) And for your convenience, the entrance to this fine establishment is right on the boardwalk. You know what that means...easy access to rides, games, and BOARDWALK FOOD.

Anyway, I digress. In an effort to make the most of our cover at Martell's we stayed on location to enjoy some boardwalk food.

Pepperoni slice, Sausage slice, and fries with a side of cheese.

Grab your food and make your way to the stage area for some live music! But wait... don't forget your drink.

They call it a Blue Hawaiian. I'm not sure why. There are no Hawaiians here. There's nothing Hawaiian about this place. But anyway, for those of you who want to replicate it...vodka, blue curacao, and pineapple juice. Enjoy!

Here's to a pleasant summer!
