How Fitting of a Name

Fat sandwiches in New Jersey... usually one would think of the iconic Grease Trucks of Rutgers University. The Fat Bitch, Fat Darrell, Fat Filipino, and Fat Bedi Boy (with honey mustard, not marinara) are all experiences into which one must indulge after several games of pong and the occasional keg stand.

However, where there is a Goliath, there is a David. Near the Jersey Shore's Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ lies Nelly's Grill and Pizzeria (http://www.nellyspizza.com/).

Don't let the name fool you. Nelly's serves THE BEST fat sandwiches in Jersey. Although bennies stuff their faces in New Brunswick, locals know that Nelly's sandwiches are thicker, tastier, and better... that IS what she said. Arguably the best sandwich on the menu, the appropriately named Fat Drunk satisfies all cravings with its laundry list of ingredients: Cheese Steak, Onion Rings, Gyro Meat, Bacon, Meatball, Chickenfinger, Cheeseburger, Egg, Mozzarella Sticks, Curly Fries, Lettuce, and Tomato with either Ketchup and Mayo or BBQ Sauce and Hot Sauce. Add a few bottles of Mad Dog Orange Jubilee and not even the orange, fist-pumping rejects from New York can ruin your true Jersey Shore experience.
